Chugger was the most amazing, regal black lab and a true member of our family. When we brought him home as a puppy, we had a basset hound and a westie terrier to greet him. Spooke, the terrier would pick on him sometimes and we would tell her she shouldn’t do that because he’s going to be much bigger than her some day! Sure enough, he grew and grew into the most handsome and sweet furry man. He loved fetching anything when we took them all to Canadian to play in the ponds and rivers. Near the end of his fourteen years we would take him for walks around the block when he felt like going. Having developed some hip dysplasia, he didn’t get around as well as he used to. During one of our last walks about half way around the block he laid down and decided he wasn’t walking a step further. The kids went back home, and Chugger rode home in their wagon. He was so loved and still after many years remembered and missed greatly.
